GAIN

This project will seek to generate evidence that enables GAIN, and specifically, GAIN’s keeping Food Markets Working (KFMW) program to better support the resilience of food system Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in both the current Covid-19 crisis and in future crises. The overarching goal is to enabling building back better and supporting healthy diets in the food systems in which GAIN operates.

COVID-19 Research

A significant amount of global trade is conducted through an integrated system of economic activities (also known as global value chains – GVCs). These arrangements affect value creation, distribution and capture (in the form of surplus) from productive activities, which in turn are influenced by firm capabilities (technological, organizational, marketing etc.); relational activity between value chain actors; sector competition; availability or scarcity of factors of production; and policy rents.

Evaluation of AGRA’s Strengthening Agricultural Input and Output Markets in Africa (SAIOMA)

Strengthening Agricultural Input and Output Markets in Africa program is hosted by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). It is a multi-partner initiative working to improve inclusive agricultural sector growth in Kenya, Malawi, and Zambia through a Global Development Alliance supported by the United States Agency for International Development, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Innovate Venture and Technologies for Development (INVENT)

The Consultancy on ‘Innovate Venture and Technologies for Development (INVENT)’ aimed at evaluating the extent of INVENT Global towards its stated objectives and inform programming and strategy of DFID India global partnership team. 

Agro Dealer Led Climate Smart Demos (ALCSD)

This consultancy aimed at capturing information on farmer behaviour change both at the Farmer and Agro dealer level as a result of the crop seed demonstrations in 20 counties in Kenya. The behaviour change anticipated was a shift by farmers from planting a recycled to certified seed, b) incorrectly positioned seed varieties, and c) mainly maize to planting other crops that are climate-smart.
